There are three different scenarios attacking, defensive and balanced. Answer was C for both elite and club curlers followed by A

I would normally go for tucking a stone behind the guard (option C), unless the guard was really short and I was playing against someone I knew could drive the guard straight back on to the shot, leaving their stone just in front of the button and guarded by the stone they just played. That would leave my skip to either play the same shot or a dead draw to the button. Both really difficult shots, and I wouldn't fancy either. As my team has the hammer I might go for option A and keep the house open, but then I'd probably miss the open draw with my last stone, so I'd probably play option C and hope they missed. Depends how well I feel I'm playing.

Scenario 7 red need to score so avoid A unless you want to blank, but it is 4th end so why do that. If it had been 3rd end or 5th then yes.
