Polmaise Trophy lost this year.
Borestone and Stirling emerged victorious from a keenly contested match on Thursday night, taking home the Polmaise trophy for the first time since 2008. Borestone and Stirling took an early lead, with a combined 5 shots up after the first end. The momentum began to shift almost immediately, and by the fourth end Sauchie and Bannockburn skips Murray and Graeme and their teams had clawed back the deficit, with the Clubs then even on 7 shots each. The teams were well balanced and both rinks were very competitive. The result could have gone either way. In the end Borestone and Stirling just had the edge but the match was far closer than the eventual margin of victory suggests. Well done to all who played. We'll get it back next season! From the President, Alison Dawson 7th February 2015
Good result in Stirlingshire Province Aitken Trophy

Unfortunately, with the closure of the ice rink, no alternative date is available to play this match on. To keep the series running, next year will be at Braehead as scheduled.
New format makes Christmas Bonspiel an interesting challenge for all concerned.
With five players on each side, and rotating positions after each end, everyone got a chance to skip and then recover by watching the other four people play the next end. This kep the teams changing and the scoring varied widely according to where in the order everyone was. It was an enjoyable evening and the curling was good too.
Mitchell/Wilson league games now completed, Grame Anderson's team win the trophy.
The third match of this league competition was also a close call. Skip Graeme Anderson has been playing really well since he got new spectacles. Now he can SEE where he is supposed to be playing to. Amazing how that has helped.
Jim Marshall won the Hendry Trophy competition for novice skips.

Murray Collins, the skip for team 1 was just back from holiday in Turkey and he was still hot when back on the ice. After three ends he removed the rust and never looked back, playing a fantastic strike at the end to deny a peels and snatch victory by 2 shots.
Opening Bonspiel with the new format for playing was a success on the night.
With simply two teams on the night we played a rotation of all the players in each team with everyone moving through all the playing positions from lead to skip. Almost everyone then retired to the restaurant for a good blether along with the food and drink. A good night all in.
