The club is a member of Stirlingshire Province, which is part of Forth Valley Area within the RCCC. The RCCC Area is located in Central Scotland and consists of 48 clubs divided into 4 Provinces. Most clubs play at Stirling ice rink but some play additionally at Edinburgh Murrayfield and Glasgow Braehead. In 2015, the Indoor Grand Match was played across Scottish Ice Rinks on the 24th October. We played at Greenacres Ice Rink as we did in 2010. The next scheduled match is 2025, after Covid19 caused the cancellation of the 2020 match. The Forth Valley Area holds two inter-Province competitions during the year both of which are run at Stirling ice rink. The Area Knockout tournament involves clubs from Forth & Endrick, Scottish Central, Stirlingshire and West Lothian Provinces. The rounds of the competition take place between September and December. Trophy winners from each Province are invited to play. The Area Bonspiel is held on one evening in January of each year with 6 clubs from each Province competing. Stirlingshire Province is one of the four provinces in Forth Valley Area and Sauchie & Bannockburn are one of the member clubs and take part in all the competitions at both levels. The club regularly represents the Province in the RCCC Waldie Griffiths competition against other provinces around Scotland as a reward for winning Stirlingshire Province trophies. The club has joined the Small Curling Clubs Alliance (SCCA) which runs a league comprising seven other curling clubs based at the Peak. Every club plays the other clubs twice in a season and there is a fun closing bonspiel too. The club also has long standing competitions with Torbrex for Button Trophy, with Borestone and Stirling for Polmaise Trophy and with Crossmyloof for Cairns Elder Trophy played alternatively at Glasgow and Stirling ice rink The Alex Reid Memorial Trophy is an eight club bonspiel once a year, usually at the end of the season. |
All of the trophies played for annually against other clubs, all individually arranged and presented and running for differnt periods of time.
